ToughsHIIT began in early 2020

as the brainchild of Lee Crowther

when the UK entered lockdown, during the Coronavirus pandemic. Lee wanted to develop HIIT workouts that would push people to their limits, despite only training in their own home.

Being an all-round fitness fanatic and regular runner, the sudden impact of restrictions on training hit Lee hard. As well as being an accomplished runner, Lee was applying for the British Armed Forces Reserves. He noted the concern of others in similar positions. There was worry as to how to keep fitness levels high during restrictions.

Lee saw that many people were struggling to make the most of the situation and train effectively during lockdown. He began to work on training methods that would keep his own fitness levels high. In addition to this he structured training sessions and workouts for other people to use.

Lee developed HIIT workouts aimed at all levels. This view to structure training programs for any fitness level meant that anyone, from international athlete to stay-at-home mum, could train effectively.

With this, ToughsHIIT was born!

ToughsHIIT is an obvious play on words and symbolises the attitude and mentality of its founder. When lockdown was on there was every excuse to sit around and do nothing. However, Lee set about working to improve his own fitness levels and the fitness levels of others.

ToughsHIIT continues to grow and develop, with regularly uploaded training tips and videos on YouTube. Not only that, we provide training programs and workouts on our Workouts page. We also look at some of the myths around training and aim to educate people to understand how to get the most from their training.

Lee Continues to train regularly and is constantly looking for ways to develop his own training and to push himself further. His application for the Armed Forces paused during the Covid-19 pandemic, but will continue thereafter, and he is also looking to begin training for Ultra Marathons.
